Harrison Update a Few Weeks Late

After 20 days in the NICU we were able to bring Harrison home on May 19. It was a much shorter stay then his sisters 70 days. Figuring out eating is so hard for these preemies and we are grateful that he finally figured out how to suck, swallow, and breath without struggling to much. He also had eat a certain amount for 48 hours each feeding. It was a little stressful but we had such amazing nurses and an amazing pediatrician, Dr. Russell McKenna, that not only encouraged him but continued to give us positive feedback and reinforcement that we wouldn't be there forever.

Cuddles with Grandma's are the best.

Handsome Harrison as the nurses liked to call him. This makes Mike happy because he think he looks just like him so that means he is Handsome Mike.

It's amazing how you never get tired of just looking at a baby.

Our nurse said blue is his color.

Going home!!

Mark and Em kept the girls for us so we could go and get him together. As you can see Eliza was super excited to see him.

A visit from Great, Great Grandma Jensen.
These pajamas are the ones that his sisters wore home from the hospital.

Eliza is a little possessive of her baby brother. In fact, she will tell Amelia she can't touch him or that she is to close. She is a little mother for sure.

Amelia loves him too but she has other things to get done so she only has time for small visits.

Baby burrito. The girls didn't love to be swaddled but he does.

We love having him home and getting to hold him and give him kisses whenever we want. He is a great sleeper. He will sleep between 3 and 5 hours before he wants to eat again. His sisters never did that. We hope he keeps his easy going temperament. Life with three kids is a whole new ball game and one day we may figure out how to juggle it all.
